The intake of food supplements containing Cranberry juice decreases the incidence of urinary (track) infections.
Vaccinium macrocarpum (cranberry) promotes the drainage of body fluids and the urinary tract functionality.

Notes

In urinary tract infections, it is usually recommended to acidify the urine because this reduces bacterial adhesion to the mucosal wall of the bladder.

In women of childbearing age, sexual activity is responsible for 75–90% of bladder infections, which appear within 24–72 hours.

In men, cystitis is often due to a functional or anatomical abnormality of the genitourinary tract.
Among external factors, the use of a catheter—especially when prolonged—can be a triggering element and is in fact the leading cause of onset related to medical treatment.
